*No gimmicks, no add-on fees. You get to meet with your DJ before you decide to hire us, and that DJ will work with your throughout your planning process. You’ll get a link to our Spotify song list for you to pick your must plays and do not plays - state of the art equipment that sounds amazing - and a personally curated, FUN and hip wedding soundtrack as well as a killer dance party!
How much do you cost?
For 2019/2020 weddings, we charge $1500 as a flat fee. We do not want to nickel and dime you! Our fee includes all equipment needed, meetings with your DJ, all your music, mics, etc. We are based in Chicago, and we are happy to travel to wherever your wedding is taking place, but we might charge a small travel fee to cover gas to get to you.
What equipment do you use?
We use the Pioneer DDJ SX2 and SX3 along with laptop and Serato, which is the industry standard for live DJing. Along with these I use QSC speakers, Shure wireless mics, and have backups of all our equipment on hand, just in case.
What is your MC style? Do you make announcements etc?
This is your wedding, not our DJ show! We are definitely there to introduce speakers to give a toast, introduce the wedding party, and make short announcements, BUT we will not make corny jokes, lead a chicken dance, or yell at your guests to get on the dance floor! We let our music speak for itself, and will have your floor packed with everyone from age 5 - 85. All without cheesy gimmicks.
Do you have any samples of your DJ style we can listen to online?
Unfortunately, we can't invite you to pop in to hear us Dj a different couples wedding. And we do not have any online samples to listen to, as we curate each couples wedding to their taste, so no two weddings will sound the same. No cookie cutter pIaylists here! We do have a Yelp page that you can check out and hear what past couples have had to say about Groove is in the Heart!
How do we book you?
Please email Tim (email@example.com), and give him your venue, guest count, and any info you already have. He will introduce you to your potential DJ, so you can get to know each other, and go over what you are looking for before moving forward. Once you decide to book your DJ, he will send over a contract for you to sign and return along with your deposit of 50%. Your final payment is due two weeks before your wedding date. Your DJ will also reach out to you and schedule a time to meet up or chat on the phone again about a month before your big day to go back over all the final details!
